Mr. Daryl Whyte-Wong

TPDCo’s Destination Manager for the Portland and St. Thomas region, is Mr. Daryl Whyte-Wong.  He is responsible for the implementation of the resort area’s sustainable tourism development programmes.

A past student of Manchester High school, Mr. Whyte -Wong served as Student Council President, President of the Red Cross Youth Link, President of the Young Entrepreneurs Club and Valedictorian for the class of 2004.

After completing his secondary education, he pursued a Bachelor’s degree in Economics, which he obtained from the University of the West Indies, Mona (UWI). He was equally active in University, participating in a range of activities and societies such as the Social Sciences club, where he served as the Cultural and Entertainment Coordinator and Head Bus Monitor for the UWI Mona guild. During his time at UWI, he was recognized for his outstanding contribution to the guild.

Prior to joining TPDCo, Mr. Whyte-Wong was the Technical Assistant for Project Implementation Service Delivery in the Office of the Prime Minister. In February 2017, he joined TPDCo as an Administrative Officer; after serving in the post for a year, he was promoted to the role of Destination Manager for Portland and St. Thomas.

In his spare time, Mr Whyte- Wong enjoys volunteering and discovering the hidden gems of Jamaica.
