Ovel Brown

Mr. Ovel Brown is the Financial Controller at the Tourism Product Development Company Limited (TPDCo). An accounting professional with a performance history of developing and streamlining accounting processes to drive efficiency, he joined the TPDCo family in March 2017 as the Accountant and was promoted to the current position in April 2020.

Mr. Brown has spent over twelve (12) years in the public sector, having previously worked at the Forestry Department and the National Land Agency. He occupied senior accounting roles where he developed skills in various areas of accounting and finance covering accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll, budgeting, final accounts, and financial statements preparation.

He has expert knowledge in the use of Sage 300 ERP (Accpac) software and the development and maintaining of Chart of Accounts. At the Forestry Department, Mr. Brown played a key role in assisting with the transition from cash accounting to accrual accounting with the use of the Sage 300 ERP and the development of Final Accounts processes.

He earned a BSc. Management Studies (Accounts) from the University of the West Indies, Mona and attended the Meadowbrook High School.

Mr. Brown is a Past President of the Trailblazers Toastmasters Club and an active Seventh-day Adventist who enjoys spending time with his daughter.
