TPDCo signs MOU with Falmouth Mystic Lagoon Tours for maintenance of Luminous Lagoon Recreation Park under the Adopt-An-Area Programme

Kingston, Jamaica; Tuesday, March 12, 2024 — The Tourism Product Development Company Limited (TPDCo) is pleased to announce the successful completion and handover of maintenance equipment to Falmouth Mystic Lagoon Tours Ltd, as part of the Adopt-An-Area Programme. This initiative marks a significant milestone in the ongoing efforts to enhance public spaces and promote community engagement in the Falmouth area.

Since December 2023, Falmouth Mystic Lagoon assumed responsibility for the upkeep and maintenance of the Luminous Lagoon Recreation Park, a beloved public space located in Rock, Falmouth, under a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with TPDCo. 

As part of the programme, TPDCo has provided a broom, rake, and brush cutter, to support maintenance efforts and an Adoption sign including both logos. 

The work covered under this initiative includes general landscaping, such as planting palm trees, as well as the installation of concrete benches, curb walls, planter boxes, and walkways on the traffic islands. Additionally, drain cleaning was conducted to ensure the park’s overall cleanliness and functionality. 

The project, was successfully completed within a duration of four (4) weeks and to commemorate this achievement, a reenactment of the signing of the MOU was conducted by the Mr. Lionel Myrie – Director of Product Quality and Community Tourism, TPDCo, Mr. Stainton Baker – Destination Manager, Falmouth, TPDCo and Mr. Rashidi Williams – Operations Manager, Falmouth Mystic Lagoon Tours Ltd.
